Uyen Tran

FOUNDER, CEO

Uyen Tran is the CEO and Founder of TômTex. A trained designer, Uyen looks for synergies across form and ecological function. She attended Parsons and the Academy of the Arts and went on to work at several fashion houses. She identified the fashion industry’s waste as a prime contributor to environmental degradation and developed TômTex.

Ross McBee

Co-FOUNDER, CSO

Ross McBee, PhD, is the CSO and Co-Founder of TômTex. Ross attended the University of Texas, Austin and Columbia University studying synthetic biology, engineered living materials, and genome engineering. At TômTex, Ross leads the research and development of our TômTex material, allowing nature to guide our work by investing in simple, regeneratively-focused ideas: allow the source materials to lead us.

Atom Nguyen

CO-FOUNDER, COO

Atom Nguyen is the COO and Co-Founder of TômTex. Atom attended Northwestern and the University of Santa Clara and went on to work at some of the largest companies in Silicon Valley focusing on business operations, growth, development, and marketing. He uses his breadth of knowledge to develop TômTex as a material that is ecological and a company that is inclusive.

Zachary Kaye

Materials Scientist

Zachary is our Materials Scientist. Hailing from Utica, NY, he graduated from the University of Rochester with a BS in Chemical Engineering and from NYU Tandon with a masters of Chemical Engineering.

Nicole Sved

Materials Science Associate

A Miami native, Nicole graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University. Nicole joined our team in November 2021 as our Materials Science Intern with the support of the LifeSci NYC program. She has since migrated to the position of Materials Science Associate

Aja Two Crows

Marketing and Communications Manager

Aja is the Marketing and Communications Manager at TômTex. She graduated from Stanford University with a BA in political science and creative nonfiction writing with a focus on the political theory of marginalized communities. Aja works to clearly communicate the importance and the promise of TômTex’s vision.

Luz Blanco

Marketing Intern

Luz Blanco is the Marketing Intern at TômTex. Luz has a bachelor's degree from Baruch College, majoring in Business Writing and a minor in Communications. After Graduating in Fall 2021, Luz attended COOP and Kepler Acadamy, where she gained digital marketing experience through hands-on paid search projects. She joiend our team through the NYC LifeSci Internship Program

Juan David Rodriguez

Materials Science Intern

Juan David Rodriguez serves as our Materials Science Intern. A graduate of the New School, Juan holds a Masters in Environmental Policy and Sustainability. For undergrad, he studied Chemical Engineering at the American University in Bogotá. Juan joined the team through the LifeSci NYC program.
